Off to the snow and the mountains again :)- Manali (Manu Alaya (Manu’s Abode) )

Day 1: Setting Off on an Exciting Expedition
Our adventure commenced as we checked in at the Chennai airport, where we indulged in a pre-flight treat at the lounge, savouring an array of delicacies ranging from South Indian to North Indian and Continental cuisines. Energized and excited, we boarded our flight to Chandigarh, marking the beginning of our exhilarating journey.

The road from Chandigarh to Manali greeted us with smooth highways and breathtaking vistas. Passing through tunnels added an extra layer of thrill to our journey, offering a glimpse into the engineering marvels nestled amidst the majestic mountains.

Day 2: Snowy Adventures and Culinary Delights
Waking up to a beautiful morning in Manali, we were greeted with the stunning sight of snow-capped peaks outside our 4-star accommodations. The view outside our hotel room resembled scenes straight out of the iconic song “Pudhu Vellai Mazhai,” filling our hearts with awe and wonder. The combination of luxurious comfort and breathtaking natural beauty set the perfect tone for our day ahead.

The kids were thrilled at the vast landscape of snow at Solang valley, a floor of whites all over. Akash and Nishu tried their hands at skiing and surprised us by mastering it in that short span of time.

After having enjoyed making snowmen and throwing balls of snow at each other, the hungry souls that we were, raved into yummy aloo tikki chaats, pakoras, pav bhaji, mini gulab jamun, etc. Our taste buds danced with joy as we savoured mouthwatering treats, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the vibrant streets. Each bite was a burst of flavours, tantalizing our senses and satisfying our hunger after a day of snowy escapades.

Day 3: Immersing in Manali's Local Charms
Our exploration of Manali continued with the visit to the Hadimba (Bheema’s wife) temple, Vashisht temple, Manu temple (Old Manali-Walking through these streets was a unique experience, cosmo yet desi) .Kiddos had fun window shopping along the streets and watching the giant bikes being hired by passionate roadies on the way. This was followed with a culinary adventure, as we ventured to sample the local delicacies. Among them was siddu, a traditional Himachali food that, while not meeting our taste expectations, was an essential tick off our list of culinary experiences. Despite its less-than-stellar taste, trying siddu added a unique flavour to our journey.

After indulging in local delicacies and visiting the Buddhist monastery, we took a leisurely stroll along the Mall Road. Here, we treated ourselves to some local delights, including 8-in-1 softy, kulhad chai, lassi, and more. The vibrant atmosphere of the Mall Road combined with the delicious flavours of these treats made for a memorable evening of relaxation and indulgence.

Day 4: Embracing Nature's Serenity in Tirthan Valley
Our journey continued as we headed to the enchanting Tirthan Valley, stopping along the way for thrilling paragliding and invigorating river rafting experiences in Kullu. Paragliding was a vera-level experience worth doing another time. Flying amidst the clouds at a height of about 8000ft was indeed an extra-ordinary experience.

Paragliding ticked off the list, simply wow!

The drive to Banjar (adjustance of 21km) from the base of the Tirthan valley was one helluva thrilling experience. Upon reaching our cozy abode, The Black Morel homestay, we were greeted by warm hospitality and the soothing embrace of nature.
